My 4 favorite Christmas Cookie Recipes

 Hello Ladies,

Hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas season. December is definitley my favorite month!
I love everything about Christmas and Baking is definitely one of my favorite things to do during the holidays, so today I thought I would share my top 4 Christmas cookie recipes.

1. Sugar Cookies

These are so fun to make!

                                                              Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

2 sticks of butter
2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 cups flour

In a large bowl mix together your flour, salt and baking powder. In a seperate bowl combine your wet ingredients and add to dry.

Mix until well combined. Divide your dough into 3 balls, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3 hours.

Once your dough has chilled, flour your surface and rolling pin, roll out your dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out your cookies.

Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes or until the bottoms start to get a little color. Keep an eye on them, you don't want to overbake them or they become hard.

Now comes the fun part... DECORATING.
To decorate my cookies I use Courtney Collingsworth's Royal Icing recipe, except I substitute the Almond Extract for more Vanilla.

2 Egg whites
2 cups of Powdered Sugar
1 tsp vanilla

This recipe works good for flooding your cookie, But to edge your cookie before you flood them, I thicken the icing by adding more powdered sugar until it is like a toothpaste consistency.

2. Egg Cookies

These are a family tradition.

3 tbsp. oil

1 3/4 cup sugar

Mix together your dry ingredients, make a well. Pour your wet ingredients into the well
and mixed until well combined.

Roll dough pieces into a snake shape and then coil together.
